![]() My kitchen table serves many purposes and this year it’s added homeschool workspace to its list of uses. I imagine that with so many mamas choosing to homeschool kiddos, we’re also in need of a special dedicated space for supplies. I’ve created that space in a kitchen nook so everything is close by. If you can spare a cupboard & a little counter space, or a few shelves in your office, or even a rolling tiered cart then you can simplify your homeschool space too. Whenever you organize it’s fun to get creative, let this task be no different. Use these tips to create YOUR homeschool space: 🗄carve out a small dedicated & easily accessible space
🛍shop your home & repurpose what you already have 👨👩👧👦make it work for your family’s unique needs ✅put everything away at the end of the school day Here’s how I set up our space (see my IG Highlights "Homeschool Tips"): 📝Daily use items (curriculum guides, writing paper, worksheets & stickers) are housed in a sturdy magazine file box. 🖍I enlisted a cute old wooden box with a handle for easy carrying of all the “usuals” that come at the 5-year old stage (crayons, pencils, erasers, glue sticks, scissors). Small jars set down in the box sort each supply & the leftover space holds flashcards. 🗂Construction paper got a home inside a decorative countertop file box (which already housed activity books & drawing paper). This age is unique in its need for all things crafty. I placed those fun bits & baubles in vintage mason jars in the cupboard to keep everything tidy. Paint supplies round out our homeschool needs & are collected in a plastic bin also kept in the cupboard along with magnetic letters & seasonal pieces. Hopefully this has your creative juices flowing & will get you on your way to creating a handy homeschool space that works for YOUR family! Comment with your questions!
